Foundation
The vision of His Lordship Rev. Jerome Fernandez was to establish an educational institution exclusively for girls, guided by the motto “A Literate Woman is the Light of the Family.” This vision led to the establishment of the school by the FIH Congregation, with Sr. Immaculate Mary serving as the primary headmistress in 1962. Since the school was inaugurated on the feast day of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary, it was named Vimala Hridaya Girls' School. The tireless service and dedication to building the school to greater heights have now positioned it as the best girls’ school in Kollam, flourishing as Vimala Hridaya Higher Secondary School for Girls.
